Eberspacher Airtronic D4

The Eberspacher Airtronic D4 and D4 plus have been the heater of choice for ambulances for many years. The Airtronic D4 is a more powerful version of the Airtronic D2 for larger scale heating environments, whilst only being slightly larger it offers optimised fuel efficiency, a range of operation modes and unsurpassed safety standards.

Programmable independent heating (does not use heat from the engine) for all types of road and marine use. Certified for installation in passenger areas and in proximity to dangerous substances.

This type of heater contains fibre gaskets and regular servicing is therefore essential to ensure the heater operates correctly. For the level of use an ambulance often sees an annual service schedule would be the norm.

Webasto Airtop 2000st

Webasto Air Top air heaters are extremely frugal and consume very little diesel and power. They run with very little noise and installation is proven to be extremely flexible and easy. They can be installed outside, in the intermediate floor or in the vehicle itself, independently or as a complement to the existing heating system.

The Airtop 2000st has recently become a popular choice for newer ambulance builds and is an excellent and compact solution. Although the gaskets are made of metal and Webasto don't specify a service interval periodic checking and cleaning of the burner tube will ensure reliable and effective operation.
